OUR HISTORY
Since 1972, Metropolis has been known as the “HOME OF SUPERMAN”. Metropolis is located at the very southern tip of Illinois. Metropolis Area Chamber of Commerce not only serves as the voice for member businesses, representing, advocating and working to enhance the businesses and civic environment, but also is your “Welcome Center” for the city of Metropolis.
Mission Statement
The Chamber is organized to advance the civic , industrial, and commercial interest of Massac County; to promote just and equitable principles in business and uniformity in commercial usages; to acquire, preserve, and distribute industrial, commercial, and civic statistics and information of value; to discover and correct abuses; to prevent or adjust controversies; to provide a medium through which all progressive citizens and organizations may act collectively on matters of general and vital importance; and to transact such other business as may properly come before a Chamber of Commerce.
